Open to children and young people, the recorder group takes place each Thursday throughout the term from 4.30-5.30pm.
Fees are £4 per session paid in blocks of 5 (£20 per half term)
The aim of the group is to allow children of all ages and abilities to enjoy participating in music making with others, developing coordination and listening skills, as well as gaining technical control over a musical instrument. I will also be arranging regular performance opportunities to help build confidence.
All recorder sizes will be welcome (from the most popular descant to the tiny garklein and huge contrabass!). Children will need to have their own recorders if playing garklein, sopranino, descant, treble or tenor. These can be easily purchased at music shops or online (ebay is great for getting hold of cheap new and second-hand recorders!)
Parents are asked to drop off children a little before 4.30 (to allow time for setting up) and collect them from the school at 5.30. Parking is not permitted in the school grounds, but there is pay and display parking available next to the cathedral (or free parking on the nearby streets). Parents will not be able to sit in on classes.
If you are interested in reserving a space for your child, please contact me on 01948 780149.
